Another day, another flower… Auckland Botanic Gardens

Another day, another flower. Auckland Botanic Gardens holds enjoyment all year round for all ages and I for one love wandering around flower gardens just like this place!

After two visits, one in autumn and one in summer I thought it was about time I shared a few photographs with you from my visits.

There are an array of gardens, from floral fragrant beauties, colourful roses, majestic palm coves and diverse rock gardens.

From time to time the sculptures around the gardens change too.

There is even a lake with ducks and plenty of spots to sit and ponder nature and life.

As I wandered around in my most recent visit I wished I knew more of the names of the flowers. Being a designer and photographer, I seem to be more concerned with the beauty and colours they hold. I know my Dad would have been inspired and be able to rattle off all the names of the stunning flowers.

If you’re ever at a loose end in Auckland, New Zealand, the botanical gardens in South Auckland is a great free day out. Stop by, buy a coffee or ice cream and enjoy the natural pastures.
