Meeting Condors in Colca Canyon, Peru – A Top Travel Experience
One of those moments.
You know the moments.
The ones that you pinch yourself that you can’t quite believe you’re seeing. And experiencing.
This was one of those moments.

A condor flying in Colca Canyon
I’m a world away from my normal life. I’d left the UK, London and so many lovely people behind and here I was almost halfway through an epic adventure, at Colca Canyon early morning, seeing condors fly around me.
The birds are huge and glide like a single feather in the wind. They are the heaviest bird in the world and second largest, so seeing them glide is something out of this world.

The surroundings are stunning, pre-Inca terraces all around.

After seeing the magnificent birds, I cycled along the road around the terraces down to a little village. The cycle was one that memories are made of. Just stunning to say the least.
