Homestay and local village of Tambatuon, Kota Belud, Borneo

Homestay location
In a quaint, quiet valley of Borneo lays a sleepy little village called Tambatuon. It’s here that my tour started its second week/second tour.
We were based in a homestay for a night to enjoy the quiet surroundings and a cooking class.

The weather wasn’t the best and to be honest most people just slept away the afternoon after our short village walk.
As always the flowers captured me.

I never realised how pineapples grew!
Tambatuon is quite a small village and miles away from anything it seemed. There’s plenty of dogs and chickens roaming around, but most families seem to have their own spot for a small farm and growing rice.
As we left the Kota Belud area, we managed to catch a glimpse of Mount Kinabalu…

Next stop wildlife spotting on Kinabatangan River!
Always an adventure to visit your blog. Thanks
Aww thanks for checking it out!
Fantastic photos as always. What a beautiful place and so unique. You certainly get around don’t you?
Haha doesn’t feel like I get to travel as much as I used to from the UK, but it was cool to see the different sides on Borneo
Stunning photos as always ngaire, I didn’t realise that pineapples grew that way either, fascinating!
I know right? They look strange! I imagined they’d grow like coconuts or bananas!
Oh wow! All the colors look so fresh and bright, as if painted on. Sounds like a great place to visit 🙂
