‘Coffee, Tea & Kudu Pies’ a sign says as we pass Fish River – more of a pond under the bridge rather than a river. Despite trying Kudu, Oryx and Springbok steaks I still can’t help but think of the cute animals that roam around, good thing I haven’t had a pie, I should probably be a vegetarian.

Onwards that afternoon we reach Fish River Canyon for a bit of a walk and cheese and crackers as the sun goes down from the viewpoint.

Fish River Canyon is said to be the second largest canyon in the world, reaching 500 meters deep and over 160km long. Fish River turns out to be a bit more than just a pond once you gaze out over the canyon, it wraps around the tall cliff faces.

NB: Some clever chicken may have misplaced her photographs from this canyon (they may be on the corrupt memory card), so once again these are on my smaller snapshot camera just to give you an idea of what it looked like.
