Colour and Vibrance of Christchurch Botanic Gardens

Following on from last week’s emotional post about the art and destruction of Christchurch City I thought this week I’d share my favourite spot in Christchurch to visit: The Botanic Gardens.

Strolling through with my camera in hand, I smelt the incredible floral fragrances all around me.

The colour is incredible. So many beautiful layers of colours and shapes in the flowers.

Vibrant green trees and delicate sculptures.

Ponds and ducks sharing natures wonders.

The Christchurch Botanic Gardens is walking distance from the city centre and many accomodation spots. It’s a must-see if you’re visiting New Zealand’s South Island city of Christchurch. Take a picnic or coffee and enjoy the natural wonders that Christchurch holds beyond the sadness of the earthquakes.

I wrote this blog post a few weeks ago on the 4 month anniversary of my father passing. He was a great gardener and plant grower. He would have loved to visit the Botanic Gardens of Christchurch. I hope you all can all enjoy the photographs and memories from my visit here as he would have.
