In memory of Kaikoura, 2016

Kaikoura, New Zealand
In late 2016 before the dreaded earthquakes I visited Kaikoura in the hope to see whales. While the whales weren’t present, I am pleased I had the chance to see the pristine coastline that Kaikoura has.

From the beach fronts to the little quaint town and up to the incredible views from the development known as Ocean Ridge – with views of snow capped mountains on one side and the ocean on the other. What a dream location I thought at the time!

I had told myself I’ll have another chance to see the whales when I visit again in 2017, sadly I’m not sure that will be the case with the damage the earthquake has done. However, I’m pleased to have the lovely memory of the incredible landscapes of Kaikoura etched in my mind.
