The final Photography Friday! Z is for New ‘Zealand’
Aotearoa. New Zealand. The land of the long white cloud. My home.
I think it is fitting that I end my Photography Friday alphabet series with my home: New Zealand. By now you’ll know that I’m currently in Africa and the my end destination for this set of travels next June, is New Zealand. After 5 years of living in the UK and travelling around the world, I’m looking forward to heading home.
Without saying too much more, let me show you why I love my home country (besides the pies and fish n’ chips):

Snow capped mountains behind Lake Taupo

Pauanui, a holiday spot

View of Pauanui

White sands of Waihi Beach, near where I grew up

Sheep at Papamoa Hills, I’ve learnt to become proud of my country having such brilliant farms and open spaces for animals to roam

My favourite spot: Mt. Maunganui (you can walk around the base or up to the top)

View of the beach and city from the top of Mt. Maunganui

A ponga frond, one of the many beauties of nature in New Zealand

The Pohutukawa Tree, always out in time for Christmas
Much more investigating of the South Island is required next year, I can’t wait to see more of my own country!

I loved the North Island, but I’ve got such a soft spot for the South Island. Hope you’re having fun on your travels!
Thanks! Sure am! Currently soaking up some much needed sun by a pool in Zimbabwe after a very hard two weeks volunteering in Namibia!
