Winter and Spring Snow Adventures
Nothing quite like fresh mountain air and beautiful snowy landscapes to give you a decent break away from city life.
This winter I’ve been snowboarding usually at least once a month, few bouts of winter colds finally grasped me and put pay to a couple of planned weekends. I’ve been trying to make the most of it this season now that I have all my own gear and a season pass.
I’ve improved my snowboarding skills a bit, some days I think I’ve improved a lot and then the odd day it’s just been icy or bad weather which doesn’t make it as enjoyable. I did land an unexpected jump once or twice though!
I’ve had a few trips with family and a few solo ones. Here’s a few pictures from my iPhone to show you what its been like:
For the most part I’ve ventured on the Whakapapa side of Mt. Ruapheu, but in a weeks time, I’ll be visiting more of the Turora side when I stay in Ohakune. Less injuries this year (touch wood) and some stunner days.
As spring comes along I’ll be out in the garden and going for walks more while the snowboard sits silently waiting for next winter in the cupboard.
